Women = Spend Money

This is the first thing that comes across my mind when I see a beautiful lady:
  • 2 taxis
  • 1 motel
  • food and drinks
  • "gifts"
If she is so nice, and makes me thing about getting married:
  • A bigger house
  • Shopping
  • Less time for me
  • Kids
Women are a product in which you spend your money. Even when you buy a nice car, you think "How many women will come inside it?"

Don't forget about weddings...

When people get upset or delighted

"When you are happy, they try to destroy your happiness!"

You got an idea. Your idea is working enough for you. You feel happy about it. You try to share it... bang! They start saying things like "Oh, what a crap!" Even if it was a joke, you got hit.

"When you are unhappy, they feel superior to you!"

No matter what kind of problems you could have in your life, people will never mind about it. Never! If they do it, it is for some kind of "convenience", even if they say "Hey, I'm your friend."

Even in the biggest path, one small step at a time

You need to do steps. They are normally smaller than the big picture of your goal. Nevertheless, you should do them. Only you need remember that, most of the time, you don't have a magic trick to make a big house appear from nowhere, for example.

No matter how big or complex something can seems, it is always built upon simple things. Following the house example: bricks, paint buckets, wood, ceramic, glass, etc. Many times you should need to create those elements before you begin to construct something.

Of course, if you know where to find them, it could help you save more steps... ;-)

This thought seems to be opposite to big tools

Sucess? Dogs? Money?

Mark Twain
  1. The more I know about people, the better I like my dog.
  2. If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man.
Thanks to Fleabusters.

Don't pull your ugly clothes to sunlight. - KameKun.

When people do you a favor, they think they have some rights on you: you must stand their offenses, you must help then in whatever they want to do, ... but, when I think about it, it is part of the price to get money or success in your life.

Making someone prosperous is not referring only to giving them food or money, but also affection. You give your heart, and that heart is what they will carelessly bite each time there is an opportunity.

Even in feelings realm, Ying-Yang law exists... :'-(

A revelation about using mantras

A mantra is a phrase which should be repeated for a long time in our mind. This phrase can be personalized to our needs. In my case, I used it to keep all my focus in my ultimate goal or task.

Many artists create mantra-like songs. Some examples are "Around the world" (Daft Punk), "Push the tempo" (Fatboy Slim) and "Get Get down" (Paul Johnson).

Mantras have some advantages. For example they:
  1. keep our mind clean
  2. help to maintain our focus in our goals
  3. reprogram our subconscious mind
I have thought too much about this chinese proverb, because it is important to keep a clear and focused, and reject all negative thoughts. They are the base of everything we do.

Today, I began using a mantra to detect what things divert my mind from my goals. I decided to keep using completely the day of today.

I started it using a phrase related to what I was doing in a determined moment. Then I chose one general phrase, then another one... I kept choosing phrases until I found one which I feel happy with. Even after finding this happy phrase, I needed to keep improving it, because that phrase kept receiving attacks from my own mind!!

There are things that appears in you mind, trying to get your attention. Things so silly, that you begin to laugh. But I always ask myself: why should be our mind that way? Why our mind is constantly banged with alternative things to think or to do?

How easy is to divert one's mind. I stopped my mantra to write this entry

Theory Vs. Practice

Even if theory is pretty and effective enough, if there is no practice, it is like painting birds in sky.

Results of work is concrete. It is what you can see, feel, touch, use, ... Analysis is only useful for Organization. no more, no less. It is the same situation as with Designing and Constructing

The story repeats

I feel sad when something terrible happens. But I feel sadder if it happens again and again. The same can be said about happiness, curiosity, and some other states of my feelings. These things keep repeating in my life.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said "Hatred is active, and envy passive dislike; there is but one step from envy to hate." I think this one-step rule applies to every existing feeling, and because of each step of them, you can make a path or a scale if you organize them.

I could make a Love-Hate scale, but right now, I am more interested in Happy-Sad one. Here is my idea:

Happy

Problems
Disconcerted or unsure
Experiment or Try (Position Zero)
Curiosity
Loneliness
Sad

No matter in which level you are, you'll tend towards Zero. Happy, Sad and Try are "Jump Zones". You can jump from or to any of them, no matter level. In position Zero, you must do a jump to any Jump Zone, happy or sad in this case. You can stay in each level as much as you want, but is most common to move to Zero than way from it.

Yes? No? Any!

a) 1 is not equal to 2
b) 1 is different from 2

These simple prepositions shows there are at least two ways of expressing things in any circumstances, even in programming.

Sometimes there is no clear way to solve a problem... and I think it is because this essential duality every proposition has.

The normal statement about ways to solve problems is this: "If it solves the problem, then it is good enough."

But in my own personal context, it is important if every proposition can be: maintainable, flexible, extensible, re-usable.

"Math is an specific domain or context, and there are universal truths inside itself."

Spoon? Sword? Mind? Knight? Destiny? Nature?

(Quotes taken from IMDB.)

Matrix:

- Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.
- What truth?
- There is no spoon.
- There is no spoon?
- Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

Ying xiong:
I have just come to a realization! This scroll by Broken Sword contains no secrets of his swordsmanship. What this reveals is his highest ideal. In the first state, man and sword become one and each other. Here, even a blade of grass can be used as a lethal weapon. In the next stage, the sword resides not in the hand but in the heart. Even without a weapon, the warrior can slay his enemy from a hundred paces. But the ultimate ideal is when the sword disappears altogether. The warrior embraces all around him. The desire to kill no longer exists. Only peace remains.

The Last Samurai:
- Please forgive; too many mind.
- Too many mind?
- Hai, mind the sword, mind the people watch, mind enemy - too many mind... No mind.
- No mind...

Kingdom of Heaven:
 - Who do you think you are? Will you alter the world? Does making a man a knight make him a better fighter?
 - Yes

The Last Samurai:
 - You believe a man can change his destiny?
 - I think a man does what he can, until his destiny is revealed.

Hunter X Hunter (2011):
 - Gon, you're flawless, a perfect gem. But that pure nature could be your undoing.

Advantages of PHP

I hate when people criticize anything PHP has in difference with other languages like C# or Java, first critics being Dynamic Typing and its Procedural part. Each programmer respects Old C and Shell Scripting. What I think is that PHP addresses problems they still have, and those PHP solutions still attracts people.

I will name what I (probably only I) think makes PHP appealing:
  • It's specifically designed for solving web problems.
  • It's free and easy to find a hosting with it.
  • You don't need to compile code and it runs very fast.
  • I don't need to cast a string if I want to use it as bool, int, float, or long.
  • String, StringBuffer, StringBuilder, ... , WTF ?!
  • PHP itself does not consume a lot of resources from servers.
  • PHP.net is the best help I have seen for a language.
  • Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, PHPBB, ... , OpenX, CodeIgniter, CakePHP, etc.
  • Yahoo! uses it a lot (well, after 2009-11-10, maybe not).
  • I admit it: PHP is a grandchild of C/C++ and Perl. He looks like them. You could learn something...
Another uncommon things of PHP:
  • Its structure and lexic is a mix of C++, Perl and Java (PHP5).
  • It THE best template to use with C/C++ on the web.
  • PHP is providing OOP for things that are really necessary, Not for everything.
  • If you organize your includes, you can take advantage of autocompletion.
  • The famous Template Pattern is procedural in essence, and so PHP.
  • It can access libraries like COM, .NET and ODBC connections, ...
Any other more profound things, please talk to Rasmus Lerdorf. He can surely make you speechless, or even. Also, I'd like to see objections about 1100 request per second Mr. Lerdorf showed in Getting Rich With PHP 5

LAMP it's free and rules! Although I'm worried about the M...

I only feel good when I swing this sword

In Berserk manga, when Guts expressed this, I was shocked!

Wow, he should be an idiot because of being happy when swinging a sword... a simple and silly task for a simple and silly idiot, right?

I have found four qualities which can make a big difference in that simple and silly task:

Speed: how fast can he move and swing a swordt?
Stamina: how much time can he keep swinging it?
Strength: how hard are things he can cut with one swing?
Specialties: how many types of swings does he have?

People can do any kind of task. Difference is efforts that each person put in that task.

1. If that silly task is what can help to make your dreams come true, it can't be taken lightly.
2. If that simple task is what can help you live in this complicated word, you should improve it.

Keep checking and looking to yourself. Inside yourself, you will find many helpful things you could improve.

Why do we love hobbies more than work?

In what things work is different to a hobby?

All idiots over there will insist in "Money, of course." Maybe that is the general answer. Maybe I need to be more specific in order to get a different answer...

For some reason, things you thought were interesting and funny, when you do them as a job, they stop being so, and that quality i want to check out.

Now, Love is not like it was at the beginning. It should be more intense, but it is getting weaker.

It seems I have lost a pearl in the ocean. I need that pearl to feel good, at least.

Feelings are treacherous

Feelings are treacherous because, if you can do something, they make you do what you want, instead of what you must do.

If there is something that you must do, is it always something what you want to? Of course not. But what about a break up? What do you want? What must you do? Someday we have this kind of conflict. It is like we want to get the best of both situations, but things and people are different.

There always will be things you want to do, but you must not, or things you must do, but you don't want to.

At the end, you need to keep them both as they are until they fall down, or until you make your choice.

Ironies

Treating serious things talking funny, but measured.

It is not the same to call the devil, than to see him coming.

It is thought and calculated. There won't be a step back.

Ponssy and Kame once said: even though it is not, it looks like it is, and you should avoid it.

I can change! No, you won't
Take me far away! Money and time is needed

The fear of forgiving is the fear of the history being repeated. (Job!)

The fear of coming back to a broken relationship, is the fear of pay back.

She occupies and demand me more time, but that could be fixed, and then she would say that I don't give her enough time and money.

I don't want kids right now.
You should get a better job.
I want a car.
I want to live in DN, or near to it.

Enemisity and Lies

Crossroads: to lie to do what is right?

If someone asks you why you did it, answer that it was personal. Then, they could tell you what they are thinking in that moment.

If you don't want to say "No", then don't do it. Instead, just keep repeating the same indirect comments about that "No".

Sometimes, people delates themselves by bringing negative thoughts!!! (Job!)

Are you leaving me for another woman?
Do you think I was with you for using you?
Yes: then I could continue doing it
No: then, stop thinking about it
And you? No

A sign to make her calm.
Her static way (inertia), and my pressions.

How destiny is tied to minds

"Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words.
Be careful of your words, for your words become your actions.
Be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits.
Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character.
Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny"
- Chinese proverb

There are many things you can't control, but you are the one who needs to make choices about how your life will be, forever. A big part of guilts you complain about, belongs to you.

Hippocrates

Copied from Learn Programming in Ten Years:

Hippocrates (c. 400BC) "Ars longa, vita brevis, occasio praeceps, experimentum periculosum, iudicium difficile", which in English renders as "Life is short, [the] craft long, opportunity fleeting, experiment treacherous, judgment difficult."

To achieve a mastery in whatever you wish, you will need a lot of time and work to do to be one of the best in your area. Sadly, there are no shortcuts in the path of mastery.

Inconstancy

I choose or write myself quotes to inspire me to go ahead, or remind me some mistakes.

If it's an aggressive quote, I feel shame for my animal instincts.
If it's philosophical, I feel shame for not being persistent with it's message.

If somebody refutes my points of view, I feel I should answer, but I don't know what to say, and why I don't know what to say. Maybe it's because my possible answer is an introspective or philosophical one: it's good, but it can't be proven with results.

I am always afraid of pleasures which are more intense than the desire to learn.

To set oneself one way, and focus on a goal, and then to see the same obstacle diverts you again.

You always try and try, and fall in the same trap.

Talk #3: Recursive Tree

- Stick to what works!!
- But that alternative takes too much resources!!
- For that kind of thoughts is why you don't have anything.
- What about that big amount of recurrent steps?
- Those steps are not too big and not too much?
- So, it means I have lost my time...
- Yes
